Traditional surge suppression circuits "sacrifice" themselves when exposed to multiple transient voltage spikes, requiring decommissioning of your system and repair of your surge suppressor. Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS)
Unique to the Furman PL-PLUS C SMP+ is its unmatched clamping voltage (even when tested beyond the grueling USA/CIDA A-1-1 test specifications). While other designs offer clamping voltages that are well above a 300 V AC peak (far beyond long-accepted professional standards), the Furman PL-PLUS C SMP+ clamps to a peak of 188 V AC, 133 V AC RMS even when tested with multiple 6000 V AC - 3000 amp surges. This unprecedented level of protection is only available with Furman SMP+ technology. Additionally, Furman’s reliable overvoltage circuitry protects against all too frequent accidental connections to 208 or 240 VAC by shutting down incoming power to the PL-PLUS C until the overvoltage condition is corrected.
