The TRB was born as a versatile 6-string bass at the same time that synthesizers were becoming increasingly popular in music in the late 1980s. The TRB bass was developed to cover the lower tonal range that a classic 4-string bass couldn't reach with the 6th string (low B), while giving advanced bassists more room to improvise and express themselves with the 1st string (high C). A longer scale length (35 inches) was also incorporated to increase tonal clarity in the lower notes and improve the feeling of string tension, particularly on the 6th string. The TRB's low-noise pickups and active 3-band circuit produce a clear, well-balanced sound, providing access to a very wide tonal range. As a result of Yamaha's countless efforts in innovation, the TRB series has accompanied many professional musicians since its debut in 1989, becoming an icon of 5- and 6-string basses around the world.

This is the version of 5 strings from the legendary series TRB . This versatile series was born during the 1980s, parallel to the rise of synthesizers. The series has been designed to cover a wider tonal range, both in the low and high frequencies, and there are also 4- and 6-string versions . A fifth string (low B) is added in this model, maintaining a perpetual 5-semitone relationship between all strings, allowing advanced players to push their creativity and improvisational skills to the limit.

Body with maple top
