Yamaha's best-selling classical guitar, the C40, has just been honored with the "Best Stringed Instrument" award at the latest Music Industry Awards (MIA), held in London on November 30th before an audience of industry professionals. Voting was conducted both by popular vote and via Classic FM.

Since its launch in the early 1990s, the C40 has racked up awards and accolades, establishing itself as the most highly regarded classical guitar among teachers, students, and beginner guitarists, thanks to its incredible value for money. The guitar has stood out for its exceptional sound, comfort, and performance, typically worthy of much more expensive guitars. The Yamaha C40 guitar features a rosewood fingerboard and spruce top (features highly prized by guitarists) and benefits from the Spanish heritage of master luthiers who visited Japan in previous decades, training Yamaha engineers since the 1960s.

The C40 has prevailed over guitars from other brands such as Fender and Admira, establishing itself as a benchmark classical guitar in music schools. According to Martin Adam (Yamaha UK), "It's natural for us to assume that the C40 is the most popular classical guitar in the UK, but this recognition is very important and emotional, as it is a public vote, reflecting the instrument's real popularity."
