More productivity
The word "compact" is often associated with limitations, and in the world of sound reinforcement, it means giving up certain features, connectivity, or sound quality—and sometimes all three. Until now, a compact console almost invariably meant you had to be willing to compromise to get the necessary capabilities with the available space. The new DM3 mixing console series leaves this stereotype behind, offering excellent sound quality, quick and easy setup, and professional-grade features for live sound, streaming and recording, live or home audio, or for music production—a combination unmatched by any other mixing console of this size. In an ever-changing world that presents new challenges as well as opportunities, the DM3 consoles give you the power and flexibility to do more than you ever imagined with a compact digital mixing console.
Raising the bar for compact digital consoles
In 1987, Yamaha launched its first digital mixing console, the DMP7, which marked a new era of consoles offering outstanding functionality in a more compact design than their analog counterparts. Decades later, the DM3 series sets a new standard in compact console performance, with versatile capabilities and extreme portability that make it a unique tool for a wide range of applications and environments.
The DM3 series comes in two models: the standard DM3 and the DM3, the first compact console fully compatible with Dante technology, enabling quick and easy setup with multiple devices. Both consoles feature multilingual user interfaces that can be configured to simplify and seamless operation for users of different backgrounds and skill levels.
Whether at home, at a live performance, or in a home studio, it's easy to imagine using a DM3 series console for an event, recording and streaming audio, and then bringing it home to edit as part of a DAW. Alternatively, you could use it as the main console one day during a small performance, and as a sub-console for live streaming the next; the possibilities are endless.
A legacy of sonic purity
The ideal starting point for any audio engineering endeavor is transparent, neutral sound. All Yamaha consoles are designed with this philosophy in mind, allowing engineers to accurately capture the soundstage without coloration, and then add creative touches as needed.
With a high sampling rate capability of up to 96 kHz, despite its compact size, the DM3 continues the legacy of sonic purity, giving you a perfect starting point for mixing, recording, and live streaming, or even in installed applications.
Simple. Intuitive. Powerful.
Perhaps the most significant advantage of a digital console is the ease of operation and accessibility to powerful functions and features that would otherwise require a higher level of user experience and more external equipment to upgrade an analog setup. The DM3 exemplifies the "less is more" design philosophy. It uses a 9" touchscreen and a Touch & Turn knob to manage most of the console's operations, giving you a user experience similar to that of a smartphone.
